OVERVIEW: The Tudor Foundation provides funding in support of programs that assist at-risk children in the Seattle Public schools.

PROFILE: Established in 2002, the Tudor Foundation was founded by businessman Roger Rieger and his wife Annette. Roger is a residential real estate investor and developer who keeps a rather low profile. While the foundation has no website, Tudor has a minimal web presence. The Tudor Foundation provides funding in support of programs that assist at-risk children in the Seattle Public schools.

Last decade, the couple pledged $3 million to their school University of Kansas, funding Rieger Hall in memory of Rieger’s late brother Dennis. The couple also founded the Seattle chapter of I Have a Dream and went on to help launch the GOLD Scholars Program which focuses on life-long success and providing higher education opportunities for young African American men.

Important Grant Details:

Grants range from $525 to $210,169. In a recent fiscal year, the foundation gave away around $570,000. Past grantees include Mentoring Urban Teens, Seattle Urban Academy, Emergency Feeding Program, Spark Northwest, and Seattle Alliance of Black School Educators.

The foundation keeps a low profile and does not accept unsolicited proposals.
