PROFILE: The PSEG Foundation is the giving entity of its corporate sister, the energy company PSE&G in New Jersey. The foundation builds upon the company’s giving tradition over the past century. The company was first formed in 1903 in Newark and is now one of the ten largest electric companies in the nation. The foundation’s grantmaking areas of interest include sustainable neighborhoods, safety, and STEM education.
The foundation supports local nonprofits through its Neighborhood Partners funding program, which includes both sponsorships and event support too. Sustainable neighborhood grants support public parks, environmental stewardship, environmental protection, climate change, and natural resources. Grants also support financial counseling, job placement, health care resources, and housing stability. The funder also provides capacity building support for nonprofits and small businesses.
