PROFILE: Established in 2011, the Our Fund Foundation (OFF) is a LGBTQ community foundation based in Wilton Manors, Florida. It is the third-largest LGBTQ community foundation in the U.S. and has numerous funds, programs, and initiatives to support the local LGBTQ population. OFF aims to “support a sustainably livable community for all South Floridians by promoting and increasing responsible philanthropy directed at agencies advancing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties.” It funds local efforts for LGBT elders, women, transgender individuals, HIV/AIDS, arts and culture for LGBTQ expression, and social justice for all LGBTQ people.

The Our Fund Foundation has a grant program that supports projects, programs, and ideas that advance LGBTQ causes. OFF has two annual grant cycles and a grant review committee that reviews applications before the board of directors approves them. In addition to these discretionary grants, OFF administers the Tuesday’s Angels Fund and the John C. Graves Fund. Tuesday’s Angels supports people living with HIV/AIDS in Broward County, and the Graves Fund offers multi-year grants, challenge grants, emergency grants, capital grants, and project-finalizing grants. There are six field-of-interest funds at OFF to address specific needs of vulnerable populations, as well as four free-standing partnership initiatives that address LGBT elder protection, LGBTQ youth homelessness, LGBTQ people of color, and LGBTQ arts internships.

Grants range between about $1,000 and $10,000. Learn more about this funder’s local giving in the seasonal listings of grantees on the funder’s website.
