Gisela has more than 15 years of experience in international major donor identification, strategy development, qualification, cultivation, and stewardship as well as developing targeted fundraising marketing actions. Before launching K+A in 2005, Gisela worked for the Goldman Sachs Foundation. Prior, she worked for a German bank, a New York-based NGO, a UK-based international fundraising consultancy and German local government administration.

Philosophy/Approach: We go the extra mile to find the most effective and creative approaches in close collaboration with our clients. We're excellent at strategy but we also provide hands-on services: setting up meetings, organizing events, or anything else that's needed. When entering new nationals or international donor markets, organizations have to change gears and rethink their marketing and cultivation strategies. K+A is passionate about helping organizations to find the best paths and strategies in this process. Strategic planning: we are helping national and international organizations clarify goals and objectives as well as finding the best ways to achieve those goals; usually by organizing two or three workshops and facilitating participatory decision making processes.

We were so impressed with Gisela’s and Karen’s great commitment and expertise. Facing several hurdles including the pandemic, which made in-person workshops impossible, they soldiered on, facilitated a participatory strategic planning process with our Caribbean chapters, helped draft a strategy for a new network, and laid the groundwork for international resource mobilization.
