PROFILE:  Founded in 1996, the James and Judith K. Dimon Foundation was established by billionaire couple James Dimon and his wife Judy. Dimon is CEO of JP Morgan Chase. Tax filings suggest grantmaking interests in education, the arts, and health, among other broad interests despite not maintaining distinct programs or a website.

In the early 1990s, Judy helped establish the National Center for Community Schools with the Children’s Aid Society, which has facilitated the development of over 15,000 community school adaptions nationally and internationally.

In 2000, meanwhile, Judy co-founded The Campaign to Expand Community Schools in Chicago, a $50 million public-private partnership to "expand the hours of operation, provide enhanced programming for students and parents, and offer on-site health care" Chicago’s public schools.

Judy also helped pioneer South Bronx Rising Together, a "broad based grassroots collaboration focused on revitalizing the South Bronx." Judy currently focuses on developing career pathways, so that young people from low income neighborhoods can attain family sustaining careers.

In a recent fiscal year, grants ranged from $5,000 to $300,000, and the foundation gave away $320,000. Past grantees include The Dreamyard Project, which "collaborates with Bronx youth, families and schools to build pathways to equity and opportunity through the arts. ; Children's Aid Society ; Goddard Riverside Community Center, and Columbia University Medical Center.
