PROFILE: Established in 1940, the J. Bulow Campbell Foundation is the foundation of an Atlanta businessman, civic leader and philanthropist. He was committed to teachings of the Christian faith, with a reputation as modest and frugal. He was the head of the Campbell Coal Company, he was a director of the Coca-Cola Company and the Trust Company of Georgia, and he passed away in 1940 at the age of 69. The Campbell Foundation prioritizes larger grants to a few organizations rather than grassroots organizations. It also prefers to support groups that have already secured other significant sources of funding. Campbell often supports Christian-based institutions, especially with regard to education.
