PROFILE: Established in 1941, the Inland Empire Community Foundation (IECF) is a community foundation with offices in Palm Desert, Riverside and San Bernardino, California. Charles Brouse, a local banker and civic leader, created the Riverside Foundation, which later became known as The Community Foundation – Serving the Counties of Riverside and San Bernardino. IECF has since adopted its current name and manages around 400 funds. The foundation aims to "strengthen the Inland Empire through philanthropy.” It funds local efforts for equity, economy, education, environment, youth, women and nonprofit capacity building.

The Inland Empire Community Foundation has multiple programs and initiatives that involve grantmaking and community support. It has a youth grantmaking program that empowers local youth and a community impact fund to address the organizational capacity of local nonprofits in flexible ways. IECF has been involved with census efforts, sparking local economic growth and emergency preparedness. IECF also responds to urgent and emergency needs when they arise through rapid response funds. There is a women’s giving fund at IECF that supports causes that impact women and children as well.
