Philip Farese

I have served purpose driven clients since leaving my teaching position as a Physics Lecturer at Princeton University and joining the management consultancy McKinsey and Company in 2005. My first project explored new revenue opportunities and brand implications for a top music conservatory. On that project I fell in love with long term strategy, strategic planning, and organizational effectiveness. Since that first experience I have found ways professionally and personally to support purpose-driven organizations through targeted projects and Board membership. Professionally I have served in a variety of roles from Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and Executive Officer, to Senior Analyst and Advisor. My diverse career has focused on solving problems in energy, the economy, technology, and finance. Currently I am seeking a limited number of high potential clients who are dedicated to having a positive, significant, and enduring impact on the people around them and the world at large.

Philosophy/Approach: I help organizations develop actionable strategies and then put in place the operational system needed to pursue those strategies. This is centered in deep interviewing and facilitation, research, and data analysis. I am sure to understand not only the organizational goals but also the culture, capabilities, and staffing situation. We can then identify any gaps and develop plans to fill those gaps. By combining a top-down approach for strategy with a bottom-up approach at planning we can both develop aspirational goals and put in place the tools needed to realize them.
