Eveillard Family Charitable Trust: Grants for Visual Arts

OVERVIEW:  The Eveillard Family Charitable Trust’s grantmaking includes support of music and visual arts institutions.

IP TAKE: The foundation lacks transparency, which limits information available on its grantmaking priorities and activities.

PROFILE: Established in 2004, the Eveillard Family Charitable Trust is steered by financier couple Betty and Jean-Marie Eveillard. Betty Eveillard serves on several key boards in New York City. She chairs the board of trustees of the Frick Collection and once chaired Glimmerglass Opera, where she and Jean-Marie are life trustees. She’s also a managing director of the Met Opera. Eveillard Family Charitable Trust’s grantmaking supports arts and educational institutions.

According to tax filings, grants range from $200 to $206,895 to The Met Opera. Past grantees include the Frick Collection, Glimmerglass Opera, World Monuments Fund (one of the couple’s daughters worked for the outfit), Carnegie Hall, Opera America, The Neue Galerie, American Friends of British Museum, San Francisco Opera, and The Wagner Society of New York.

Unfortunately, due to its lack of transparency, it is unclear whether the foundation accepts unsolicited applications.
