Elizabeth and Oliver Stanton Foundation

OVERVIEW:  The Elizabeth and Oliver Stanton Foundation’s grantmaking includes support of Jewish and cultural organizations.

IP TAKE: The foundation keeps a low public profile, which limits information available on its grantmaking priorities and activities.

FUNDING AREAS: Jewish Causes, Arts & Culture, Education

PROFILE: Established in 2000, the Elizabeth and Oliver Stanton Foundation was founded by Oliver Stanton, minority owner and a senior vice president of Trammo, and his wife Elizabeth. Trammo is a leading international merchandising and trading company that markets, trades, distributes and transports key raw materials used in industrial processes and fertilizer production globally. Elizabeth Stanton serves as board president for The Elizabeth and Oliver Stanton Foundation, and a board member of the Melanoma Research Alliance. She was also on the boards of Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Iyengar Yoga Association of Greater New York.

While the foundation does not maintain a website or grantmaking programs, its tax filings suggest an interest in Jewish and cultural organizations.

Grants range from $5,000 to $318,000. Past grantees include Yeshiva University, UJA Federation, Central Park Conservancy, Institute for Jewish Ideas & Ideals, and the Gimmel Foundation, “a New York City and Israel based non-profit foundation, which funds projects and programs aimed at improving Jewish education and Jewish identity in the Southern region of Israel.”

Tax filings do not indicate whether it accepts unsolicited applications; however, given it's lack of transparency, it's clear that it does not.
