PROFILE: Established in 1983, the Edlow Family Fund was founded by financier Kenneth Edlow and his wife Mary Edlow, a New York City psychotherapist. The family’s children are also directors of the foundation with ties to Boston, Baltimore, and Los Angeles. The Edlow Family Fund’s grantmaking includes support of the Jewish community, local schools, and arts organizations.   

In a recent fiscal year, grants ranged from as low as $75 to as high as $1,759,225 to American Numismatic Society.  Grantees have included NY Psychoanalytic Society, Institute for Jewish Spirituality, Trinity School, Dalton School, Public Theater, The Met, and of The American Numismatic Society, “a New York City-based organization dedicated to the study of coins and medals.” Kenneth Edlow chairs the board of the organization. Mary, meanwhile, funded a Teachers College Sexual/Reproductive Literacy Project to “help young people understand their own attitudes toward sex and parenting.”
