PROFILE: The Beal Family Foundation was established in 2011. It was founded by real estate mogul Bruce A. Beal Jr., and his wife Kathryn, a radiation oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Bruce Beal serves as president of the New York real estate company Related Companies. The foundation does not maintain a website, which restricts further information regarding its priority areas and grantmaking strategies. According to tax filings, the Beal Family Foundation's grantmaking focuses in on supporting education, the arts, medical research, and hospitals. 

The Beals support Kathryn's alma mater Columbia University. They also support The Diller-Quaile School of Music, where the couple's children play music. 

Grants range from $500 to $800,000. In a recent fiscal year, the foundation gave away around $1.3 million. Past grantees include New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NYSPCC), New York - Presbyterian Hospital (Kathryn is on the board), Dubin Breast Cancer, Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, Central Park Conservancy, and Prep for Prep. 

 The Beal Family Foundation keeps a low-profile and does not accept unsolicited proposals.
